Our chameleon letters are transformed, under the pen of the calligrapher, sometimes into the monster of Loch Ness, the sand dunes of the Sahara or the Chinese wall, sometimes into an African mask, Australian coral or transsiberian. Astonishing alphabets - alternately inspired by Joan Mirô's paintings, Chinese ideograms or Aboriginal art - complete this picturesque travel diary.

Hélène Favier graduated at the top of her class at the Reigate School of Art, Design and Media in London and studied calligraphy, heraldry, design and art history. She now teaches and leads courses in traditional Latin calligraphy, for adults and children, within the Scribouill'ART association. Far from restricting herself to the reproduction of ancient texts, she has at heart to take the letters out of their purely scriptural use, and to bring them to life through unexpected metamorphoses.
